Many people think that presenting on TV or radio is all glitz and glamour, but it’s so much more than that. Working at UBC TV and UBC Radio Butebo has taught me the importance of preparation, adaptability, and connecting authentically with audiences.
Every segment starts with research—knowing the facts, understanding the context, and planning how to deliver information clearly and engagingly. Live broadcasting, especially, requires quick thinking, confidence, and a calm demeanor, as there’s no room for mistakes.
Beyond technical skills, connecting with people—interviewees, co-hosts, and viewers—is essential. I always strive to make my interactions genuine and relatable. Whether it’s a serious news story or a lighter entertainment piece, my goal is to ensure every listener or viewer feels informed and entertained.
Presenting is an art, and my passion for media drives me to continually refine my skills, explore new formats, and experiment with ways to make every broadcast memorable.
